Throwback to Young KD

Let me BLESS ya’ll with young farmer KD on this #nationalagday

TBH, I wouldn’t go to a hog show without braiding my hair (in my version) of cornrows until I was probably 14. Bless my heart.

Cattle have been and will always be my favorite livestock. This was young KD’s steer “Boss.” He would basically trample over any human but me. Guess I’ve been a cow whisperer from the beginning.

See overalls (above): I vividly remember a group of teenage boys taunting me for my taste in #farmfashion and later spray-painting my pigs and tearing down my 4-H signs.

Happy to report those “men” went on to become losers who still bully powerful women.

Here’s to farmers, ranchers, 4-H, FFA, overalls with butterfly stickers, and mostly, FEMALES IN AG.

I love the sun. I also love dirt. And being barefoot. I’m a millennial-farmer, yogi, oreo-addict, recovering people-pleaser, self-appointed social scientist, eclectic mix of 90’s R&B meets 90’s country. I started this blog as a way to showcase my love for agriculture, psychology, & education.  By sharing stories of life on the farm, navigating adulthood as a millennial, and the many nuances we share under the human condition, my hope for you is that you, too, discover your own voice. That you find space here to lean in to a creative life: authentically, vulnerably, you.  Join me as we talk truth, tractors, & true love!
